About this venue
Jönköpings Teater is a well-preserved theatre building from 1904 on Hovrättstorget in central Jönköping, recently reopened after a renovation of both the exterior and interior. It has 353 velvet seats across stalls and two balconies, a high ceiling and dressing rooms close to the stage, and suits intimate productions: theatre, stripped-back concerts, stand-up and live podcasts. The programme also includes Met Opera performances streamed live from New York with Swedish subtitles.
The theatre is run by the municipal company Destination Jönköping together with its sister venue Jönköping Konsert & Kongress. Promoters who want to put on a concert or performance can contact the venue's concert-operations team through the organiser information page. The box office opens 90 minutes to 2.5 hours before performances, and a hotel is in the same building.
