Jugendkulturzentrum forum

The Jugendkulturzentrum forum, run by the Stadtjugendring Mannheim e.V., is a non-commercial youth culture centre at Neckarpromenade 46. Its cross-disciplinary programme covers theatre, media, music, film, visual art and political and intercultural education, with concerts, guest performances, exhibitions, conferences, workshops, jam sessions, open stages and club nights; it is also home to many Mannheim initiatives and groups. The house has six rooms: the Saal, a hall for up to 444 people unseated and an important stage for the city's theatre and music scene, also booked by outside promoters; the Club, a concert and cabaret room for 180; the Café on the ground floor for 40 to 80; plus a lab, a ceramics workshop and a media room. Rooms can be hired for cultural and political events, subject to availability and fit with the programme, but not for private parties; weekends are often booked months ahead.
