About this venue

The Jugendzentrum Friedrich Dürr (JUZ) at Käthe-Kollwitz-Straße 2-4 in the Neckarstadt is a self-managed youth centre run by the Trägerverein für ein Jugendzentrum in Selbstverwaltung Mannheim e.V. Decisions are taken at a weekly open assembly in the café. The house hosts DIY concerts, mostly punk, hardcore and metal, put on by collectives such as Lifeless Plague, together with electro and noise dance nights, film screenings, talks and improv theatre. Regular activities include a youth café, an info shop and reading café, an open bicycle workshop and free German classes for refugees and migrants. Its 50th-anniversary programme filled April and May with concerts and events.
