About this venue

The Karlsburg stands in the centre of Durlach, with origins in the 16th century; the surviving building was erected in the 18th century to plans by the architect Domenico Egidio Rossi and thoroughly renovated in the 1980s. The Festsaal occupies the former palace chapel and was restored some years ago on a historical model. It has excellent acoustics and is let by the Stadtamt Durlach for family celebrations, weddings, concerts, talks, company events, receptions, conferences, conference dinners, smaller dances and club events. The hall covers 242 m² (22 by 10 metres, 7 metres high) and seats up to 219 in rows or 150 at round tables. Unlike the city's other Durlach rooms, the Festsaal has no closing-time limit. The Pfinzgaumuseum occupies other rooms of the Karlsburg.
