About this venue
Karmøy kino sits at Stangalandgata 7 in Kopervik, the main town on the island of Karmøy, and is the municipality's cinema. It has three auditoriums: Sal 1, the large hall, with 388 seats, and two small halls, Sal 2 with 49 seats and Sal 3 with 48. The programme covers the usual first-run releases plus baby screenings, free youth screenings and a summer season, and the house occasionally puts on live events with an age limit where alcohol is served.
All three halls are available for hire — for seminars, conferences, concerts, revues and similar — and there is a separate meeting room that hirers use as a dining and mingling area alongside the large hall. Bookings go through Karmøy municipality's Bookup portal or directly with the cinema's administration.
The cinema is documented on Sceneweb as a performance venue, with touring productions recorded there as far back as Den Norske Opera & Ballett's Den glade enke in 1985. Ticketing runs on eBillett, with mobile tickets through the eBillett app.
