Kettenfabrik

The KETTENFABRIK in Saarbrücken-St. Arnual grew out of a factory hall of the former chain and rivet works and is today a housing project and cultural venue. Concerts and other events were held there as early as 1978, and since 2008 a group of volunteer residents has again organised regular events in the hall. Between 2015 and 2020 the owners converted the hall into an official events venue, and since April 2019 the programme has been run by the non-profit association Ehemalige Kettenfabrik. The hall has half-timbering, exposed beams under a high pointed gable and an open fireplace. The focus is on jazz concerts, with dates into December 2026, plus the three-day KettenJAZZ festival each autumn and productions by the Volkstheater in der Kettenfabrik. The entrance to the hall is next to Kettenstraße 2; parking is beside and behind the Stiftskirche and in the Arnulfstraße, not in the Kettenstraße.
