About this venue
Kronbar is a bar and concert venue at Høgskulen på Vestlandet's campus at Kronstad in Bergen, run on a voluntary basis by students. The venue is housed in a preserved industrial building that was formerly used for steam locomotive maintenance, a heritage site from NSB's time at Kronstad.The venue has an intimate, informal character and serves as a social meeting place for students and other visitors. It regularly hosts quiz nights, open jam/open mic nights, and concerts featuring student bands, as well as debate nights and other student events. The age limit is 18 with a valid student ID and 20 without. Kronbar is also available for hire for events outside its regular opening hours. Kronbar is available for hire by student organizations, businesses, and private individuals. Get in touch by email with your preferred date and, ideally, a few alternative dates, along with information about expected number of guests, catering, and planned programme. The venue is generally unavailable during exam periods and holidays. Weddings and other private celebrations are not accepted.
