About this venue

Kronhuset is a six-storey brick building at Kronhusgatan in central Gothenburg, built in two stages in 1642-1654 as an arsenal and one of the city's oldest non-church buildings. Over the centuries its ground-floor Rikssalen has been a parliament hall (1660), a garrison church and a concert hall. Owned by the city property company Higab, the building has since 2021 been developed for the cultural and creative industries: through a flexible membership, cultural actors get access to premises for meetings and events, and the house runs a public programme. Current listings include Kulturnatta on 23 October 2026, a clothes-swap day on 24 October, Tillsammansfestivalen on 6-8 November and the Wintersongs concert on 22 November. In front of the house are the 18th-century Kronhusbodarna, craft shops and a café, with a courtyard and park with an outdoor stage. Capacity and prices are not published; enquiries about becoming an actor in the building go to Higab by email.
