About this venue

The Kulturhaus Käfertal at Gartenstraße 8 is run by the Interessengemeinschaft Käfertaler Vereine, an umbrella of local associations active since 1951, and is one of the city's Bürger- und Kulturhäuser. With 2,500 sq m it is the largest culture and community house in Mannheim. As a sociocultural centre it hosts more than 100 concerts, exhibitions, theatre performances, festivals and cultural events a year in the house and the adjoining Stempelpark, which has an outdoor stage, and it runs YOUNITY, with 14 music, dance and media ensembles for more than 150 children, young people and adults. The Großer Saal (500 sq m with gallery, stage 11.3 x 7 m) holds 1,000 standing or 640 in concert seating, with a 32-channel digital desk, line-array PA, moving lights and a grand piano; the Foyersaal seats 120, and two meeting rooms take 100 and 56. A 750 sq m enclosed garden adds outdoor space. Rooms are let for weddings, parties, conferences, club and company events. Parking nearby is limited; Käfertal Bahnhof is served by tram and bus.
