About this venue

The Kulturhaus Kresslesmühle is a municipal Kleinkunst (cabaret and small-arts) theatre with an education centre and a café, in a listed former water mill on the Vorderer Lech in the Lechviertel. The building grew from a 16th-century craftsman's house. The grain mill, already mentioned in Augsburg's 1276 town law, ran until the early 1970s. A citizens' initiative saved it and opened a cultural centre there in 1977. The City of Augsburg took the house over in 2015 and refurbished it in 2019. Alongside the cabaret stage there are seminar rooms and an intercultural day nursery. Since 2005 the house has run the Interkulturelle Akademie Augsburg with the migrant organisation Mesopotamien Verein. The ground floor and terrace have always been used for food and drink, currently the vegan café Dreizehn. The programme mixes cabaret, comedy and concerts, with dates listed from November 2026 into 2027.
