About this venue
Kulturhuset Spira, opened in November 2011 and designed by Wingårdh arkitekter, is the home of the regional performing-arts company Smålands Musik & Teater and a 15,000 square metre house on Lake Munksjön in central Jönköping. It has four stages: the Konsertsalen (820 seated, with a 17 x 11 m stage and acoustics designed around timber panelling), the Teatersalongen (380 seated, 9 x 14 m stage), the Kammaren black box (278 seated or 400 standing, 17 x 15 m) and the Caféscenen (130 seated, 6 x 4 m). The programme covers theatre, music, dance, musicals and children's productions, including a symphony series and Jönköpings Sinfonietta.
The house also sells conferences, events and artist hire. Two meeting rooms, Utsikten (up to 18 people) and Insikten (18 to 80 people, divisible), complement the stages, and the building has a restaurant. Ticket sales and enquiries go through the box office.
