About this venue
The Kulturladen Ziegelstein is one of the city's twelve Kulturläden and a meeting place for Nürnberg's north-east. It opened on 5 February 1989 on Tannenbergstraße and moved to its current, larger home on Ziegelsteinstraße on 4 May 1996. Its programme, which draws more than 15,000 visitors a year, focuses on literature for all generations, talks and workshops on art, ecology and health, exhibitions and openings, and activities for older people, refugees and women; children's theatre runs about once a month from October to April. Choirs, theatre and art groups and local initiatives meet there regularly, and the rooms can be hired for workshops, cultural events and meetings.
Access is limited: the main entrance has four steps and no automatic door, but wheelchair places are available and companions of wheelchair users enter free.
