About this venue

Since 2016 the Kulturwerkstatt Auf AEG has added 4,800 m² of classrooms, event halls and gastronomy to the cultural life of Nürnberg's west, on the former AEG works. It is shared by the Kulturbüro Muggenhof (one of the city's Kulturläden run by the Amt für Kultur und Freizeit), the KinderKunstRaum, the city's children's culture office, the Musikschule Nürnberg, the Nürnberger Akademie für digitale Kultur und performative Bildung and the Centro Español. It hosts regional and international events, including concerts of the NUEJAZZ festival, and marks its tenth anniversary with ten days of concerts, performances and exhibitions from 6 to 15 November 2026. The Großer Saal holds up to 234 people depending on seating and stage, with a projector, large sound and lighting system and an induction loop; the Kleiner Saal holds up to 53 with a projector and small sound and lighting system, and further group rooms take about 20. The building has an automatic main door, step-free floors, a lift, accessible toilets, two accessible parking bays in Hof D and a mobile induction system; guide dogs are welcome and wheelchair users' companions enter free.
