About this venue
Le Pub (also known as Le Public Space) is a community-owned bar and live-music venue in the heart of Newport, founded in 1992 and now based in former local newspaper offices on High Street. Since 2018 it has been owned freehold by Le Public Space (Newport) Limited, a Community Benefit Society, and carries an Asset of Community Value designation. Alongside its bar it operates as an open-plan arts space hosting live bands (rock, indie and experimental acts), regular jam nights, comedy and cinema screenings, with a stage and PA system and mobility access via a movable ramp on request.
