About this venue
LUISE (Raum für Jugendkultur, also known as The Cultfactory) is a youth culture centre on Scharrerstraße run by the Kreisjugendring Nürnberg-Stadt. Young people can put on their own events, perform on its stage, join the programme and theatre groups, and take part in workshops such as music weeks for girls and queer teenagers. The house also has four rehearsal rooms with a session box of instruments, a recording studio and the Free Spirit radio studio, and hosts the Bonsai Festival and band showcases.
The hall is about 115 m² with a fixed 33 m² stage, holding 100 seated or 190 standing, or 350 with the partition to the bar foyer opened. The bar foyer (about 90 m²) has a fixed bar, DJ booth, table football and billiards and holds about 70; there is also a multi-purpose room, a backstage room next to the stage, a kitchen, and a beer garden of about 120 m² with a 4 x 4 m performance area.
The lower floor is reached by a wheelchair-accessible stair lift and there is an accessible toilet; companions of disabled visitors with a B marker get in free. The nearest stops are Scharrerstraße (tram) and Gleißhammer (S-Bahn).
