M8 im Haus der Jugend

The M8-Liveclub is the concert space of the Haus der Jugend, a children's, youth and cultural centre in Mainz's old town on Mitternachtsgasse, between Flachsmarkt and the Rheinstraße, near the state parliament. It is run by the Förderverein des Hauses der Jugend Mainz e.V. and gives a stage to young and amateur bands as well as regular house bands. Its autumn 2026 programme includes acoustic and singer-songwriter evenings (Mayence Acoustique), jazz concerts organised by the Jazzinitiative Mainz, a Genesis tribute night, an extreme metal night, and drama and children's theatre. Reduced prices are offered to MainzPass holders, and seats can be reserved for some concerts. The club has said it will organise fewer events itself from 2027.
