About this venue
The Mainzer Kammerspiele is a private theatre founded in 1986 by a group of professional independent actors. Its stage in the Fort Malakoff Park area hosts more than 200 performances per season, with around seven in-house premieres a year, and several resident ensembles present their work there. The programme ranges from traditional and experimental spoken theatre to contemporary dance, revues and musicals for children, with a focus on contemporary authors and first performances. It also hosts festival events, including parts of the puppet theatre festival No Strings Attached. The theatre is supported by the state of Rheinland-Pfalz and the city of Mainz and can be hired for events. The autumn 2026 programme includes theatre, dance and children's productions.
