About this venue
martini-Park is the interim venue that Staatstheater Augsburg opened on 1 October 2017 while its Großes Haus on Kennedy-Platz is refurbished. Two vacant industrial halls on the martini-Park site were converted into a fully working theatre with about 620 seats, offices and rehearsal rooms.
The public entrance is on Schäfflerbachstraße and is fully step-free. The site is a working business estate, so only firms based there may drive onto it, and street parking nearby is very limited. A theatre shuttle runs from the Textilmuseum tram stop and the City-Galerie car park. The theatre expects the Großes Haus works to finish in 2029/30, so martini-Park's role may change after that.
The venue is certified under Germany's accessibility label for August 2024 to July 2027. It has six wheelchair spaces in the auditorium, an accessible toilet and an induction loop in the theatre, and some productions are fully surtitled.
