About this venue
Masthuggsteatern is a theatre on Masthuggsterrassen in the Masthugget district, reached by a lift up from Masthuggstorget. Its stages can be hired when the theatre is not playing its own productions, for performances, rehearsals, meetings and workshops, but not for parties; because the theatre sits inside a residential building, loud events must end by 22.00. The main stage is about 9 by 8 metres with sloping ceiling height of 3.4 to 4.45 metres, and a tiered seating bank for 60 people can be built at extra cost. The small stage is about 9 by 7.45 metres and holds up to 60 people. The foyer takes up to 40 people for meetings, seminars or simple small performances. A smaller studio is let for rehearsals and workshops by the hour or for longer periods. Day rates are 4 500 kr per stage and 3 000 kr for the foyer, plus 350 kr an hour for a technician or fire watch.
