About this venue
Middlesbrough Bowling Club is a bowls club on Cornfield Road in Linthorpe, founded in 1893, with a six-rink bowling green, carpet bowls and a licensed clubhouse.
Its pavilion, completed in 2006, is let for private functions when not in use for bowling: it caters for about 100 people and suits parties, christenings and weddings. Hire is £100 for an afternoon or evening and £150 for a full day including staff; hirers bring their own DJ and food, only drinks bought at the club bar may be consumed, and the room is not let for 18th or 21st birthday parties. A kitchen with oven, microwave and fridge-freezer is available.
The club's social programme includes a weekly quiz and bingo, a monthly Saturday soul night (Soul at the Bowl), and live entertainment from singers and comedians at least once a month, with tickets sold at the bar.
