About this venue

Musikkstuen is a live-music room in Kirkegata in Stavanger, run by Musikkstuen AS and built around what the house calls a roomy and handsome stage, with a floor that can be laid out several ways. Seated it takes 120; mixing standing and seating brings it to 200. The programme is deliberately broad for a room this size: intimate concerts and rock shows, sing-alongs and Saturday dances, open mic and jam sessions, debates, improvised theatre and comedy. The house invites artists to get in touch directly about playing. There is a membership scheme at 250 kroner a year, which brings advance notice of what is coming, entry to raffles, a discount at the bar and members-only events.
