About this venue
The National Theatre stands on Upper Ground on London's South Bank, in Denys Lasdun's Grade II* listed Brutalist building. It runs three auditoria of quite different character.
The Olivier is the largest, a fan-shaped open-stage house seating 1,150 and used for the widest range of work, modern musicals among them. The Lyttelton is a traditional proscenium-arch theatre seating 890. The Dorfman is a rectangular, flexible room holding up to 450, used for new and smaller-scale work.
