About this venue
The New Theatre Royal Lincoln is a Victorian theatre on Clasketgate in the city centre. The present building opened in 1893 to designs by Bertie Crewe and W. G. R. Sprague, replacing an 1806 Theatre Royal on the same site that was destroyed by an explosion and fire in 1892. It is both a receiving and a producing house, with a programme of drama, comedy, music, opera, ballet, tribute shows and an annual pantomime.
