About this venue
Newport Memorial Hall (Neuadd Goffa, Trefdraeth) on West Street, Newport, Pembrokeshire, has served the town since 1923 and is run as a registered charity (no. 232375) to provide a community resource for leisure, learning and events. The site also holds a medieval pottery kiln.
Three rooms are let for concerts, meetings, parties, classes and weddings. The Main Hall is large, bright and airy with a vintage wooden floor and a traditional stage; hire includes the stage, a PA system, a large screen projector, tables and chairs and use of the kitchen for hot drinks, and a run bar service (stocking Bluestone Brewery beers) is offered for events over 50 people. The Garden Room has bi-fold doors onto a patio and garden with a fire pit, underfloor heating and a mobile projector, with a BBQ and gazebo available for garden-room or whole-hall hires. The Committee Room, formerly the library, has its own wheelchair-friendly entrance and a door onto the stage, so it doubles as a dressing room for performances. Regular classes and groups run through the week, from bowls and badminton to yoga and painting. Room capacities are not published.
