About this venue
Norrbottensteatern, founded as a foundation in 1967 by the Norrbotten county council and Luleå municipality, is Sweden's first county theatre. Since 1986 it has been based in a purpose-built theatre house at Norra hamn in Luleå with three stages: scen 1, the main stage with about 300 seats, scen 2 with about 110 and scen 3 with about 108, the last also used for stage lunches and stage dinners. It stages six or seven own productions a year and about 150 performances in the house including guest performances, stage lunches and Saturday matinées, and tours its work around the county. The programme also includes guest performances such as stand-up comedy and music. The public entrance is on the quay at Norra hamn next to the theatre restaurant Bistron; staff entrance and deliveries are at Norra Strandgatan 3-5. The ticket office is open Wednesday to Friday 12:00-16:00 and an hour before performances. A venue-hire price list was not found; the site offers group ticket sales and a producers' contact for touring organisers.
