Nürnberger Burgtheater

The nürnberger burgtheater sits at Füll 13 in the Sebalder Altstadt, a small theatre with a living-room atmosphere that over the past 25 years has become Nürnberg's leading cabaret stage. Its early programme covered almost every genre; today it is devoted to cabaret, satire, entertainment and comedy, with well-known cabaret artists from Germany, Austria and Switzerland presenting new shows alongside young newcomers. Since 1991 the theatre has staged the annual presentation of the Deutscher Kabarett-Preis, endowed by the city of Nürnberg. It has been run by a non-profit association since 1979, and in 2009 received the city's promotion prize for art and science. Some of its shows are staged in larger halls such as the Tafelhalle.
