About this venue
Örebro Teater stands on Storgatan by the Svartån river, next to Örebro Castle. The building dates from 1853, when with 560 seats it was Sweden's second-largest theatre hall after the Royal Opera, and since 2002 it has been the home and main stage of the county theatre. The main stage (Stora scenen) is used for the largest productions, classical and new drama, concerts and children's and youth shows, and the auditorium seats about 180 (175-185 depending on the set). The cafe stage (Caféscenen) on level 2 hosts small shows such as soup theatre and after-work theatre with the audience at cafe tables. The experimental stage Studion, with about 50 seats and a bar, is in the cellar with an entrance from Järntorgsgatan 8. The children's and youth stage Lilla scenen (Nya China) at Storgatan 19 takes up to 120. The theatre also tours the county. Companies can arrange a VIP evening that hires the whole auditorium, with a foyer reception, for SEK 45,000 excl. VAT.
