About this venue
Pildammsteatern is an open-air theatre at the Margaretapaviljongen in Pildammsparken, Malmö. Theatre and music have been staged here every summer since 1952, first as comedies and farce and in recent decades mainly as music entertainment. The stage was rebuilt in 2000 with a roof carried by four slanted masts and a half-moon timber back wall that shelters against wind and directs sound, and in 2006 it gained a concrete floor, a low limestone edge and a backstage area, plus a dedicated position for sound technicians. The stage is built in sections and is taken down after the season. In 2026 Malmö Sommarscen, the City of Malmö's summer festival, opened here on 13 June with Malmö SymfoniOrkester, and the season's acts on this stage included Nana Benz du Togo, ADG7, Paula Cendejas, Jupiter & Okwess and Outlandish. The theatre is a seasonal summer venue; no hire route or capacity figure was found.
