About this venue
Play is a bar and events space at 8 Cannon Park Way, just outside Middlesbrough town centre, in the former warehouse taproom of Play Brew Co. It now trades as Play, billing itself as "The Boro Alternative", and says plainly that it plays rock music.
The bar has 12 craft beer taps, cocktails and non-alcoholic options, two pool tables, arcade machines, a dartboard and retro consoles, with Good People pizza kitchen trading just outside. The weekly programme includes Play After Dark, a free rock DJ night on Saturdays until 2am, plus themed quizzes, music bingo, darts tournaments, film screenings and live bands. Skiddle lists capacity at 300.
The venue is wheelchair accessible with an accessible toilet at the front of the building; off-street parking two doors down is free after 6pm. All events are 18+.
