About this venue
Portland House is a Grade II listed former bank of 1926 on Bute Street in Cardiff Bay, now run as a hire venue. Its centrepiece is the Banking Hall, described by the operator as "an extremely versatile 4000 square foot of open space", used for weddings, live music events, proms, balls, festivals, conferences and private functions.
The building has also been used as a filming location for Warner Bros., Channel 4, S4C and the BBC, including Torchwood, Doctor Who and Casualty, and carries office space on its upper floors. The basement houses Vaults, an electronic music club that runs its own separate programme.
