About this venue
Risørhuset is Risør's culture house in Krags gate, run by Risør kommune. It combines a cinema with a live culture programme and houses Risør bibliotek, the town library.
The building has two auditoria — Storsalen "Inger Johanne" and the smaller hall "Dikken" — plus Litteraturrommet and a meeting room on the first floor, all of which can be booked. The halls are let for events, courses and conferences through the house's booking address; the library handles bookings for Litteraturrommet and the meeting room. Cinema screenings run alongside the cultural programme, with tickets sold online and at the box office during opening hours.
Both halls are wheelchair accessible. Wheelchair spaces are sold online for cinema screenings and marked with a blue wheelchair on the seating plans; in Storsalen Inger Johanne and Dikken there is no ordinary seat in those positions, so a chair rolls straight in. Companion tickets are issued with a code from the kiosk or by email, against a valid companion card, and companion seats beside wheelchair spaces are held during the first weeks of ticket sales before being released as ordinary tickets if a show is close to selling out. There is an accessible parking bay immediately outside the culture house by the side entrance, a lift and an accessible toilet in the building, and tactile guide lines leading to the counter, exits, toilets, halls and kiosk. Storsalen Inger Johanne, Litteraturrommet and the library counter all have hearing loops.
