The Schwabenhalle is Hall 1 of the Messe Augsburg exhibition centre, run by Augsburger Schwabenhallen Messe- und Veranstaltungsgesellschaft mbH, which is majority-owned by the City of Augsburg. The site opened in 1988. The hall is used for large events, concerts, sports, TV shows and events of all kinds. It has about 6,300 square metres gross floor area (6,082 net, 82.8 by 73.5 metres, 10 metres high) and takes up to 8,200 visitors. A retractable telescopic stand seats about 2,000.
