About this venue

Spillestedet Stengade is a user-driven music venue at Stengade 18 in Nørrebro. According to its own site it hosts about 200 concerts across roughly 100 event days a year, plus other social and cultural events, with a music profile that is diverse and often rooted in the underground scene. Many volunteers run the house, and it has an agreement with Copenhagen Municipality that supports its operation. The building dates from 1936, is in the Functionalist style and was registered as culturally significant in 1996; the venue re-opened under the Spillestedet Stengade name in 2010. The site also has a "Use of House" page for hiring the venue.
