About this venue
St Mary's Cathedral is the Catholic cathedral of the Diocese of Middlesbrough, on Dalby Way in Coulby Newham, about 6 km south of Middlesbrough town centre and beside the Parkway Centre. Alongside worship it runs a busy concert programme: choral and orchestral concerts (The Sixteen, Cleveland Philharmonic Orchestra), Candlelight concerts, acoustic tribute shows, Christmas concerts and a children's pantomime. Seating is on benches in an amphitheatre configuration, and the cathedral bar serves drinks and snacks during intervals.
The cathedral offers the main body of the church for hire for performances, recitals, exhibitions, receptions and networking events in keeping with its purpose; events enquiries go to 01642 597750 or cathedralevents@rcdmidd.org.uk. Public areas are fully step-free, with an accessible toilet, hearing loop and wheelchair spaces on request. There is no dedicated car park, but the Parkway Centre car park, under 50 yards away, offers five hours' free parking.
