About this venue
St Mary's is the Church of England parish church at the heart of Nantwich, and one of the finest medieval churches in England. It is a listed building in a conservation area, open to visitors Monday to Saturday, and part of the Diocese of Chester.
Alongside worship, the church is a regular concert venue. It runs a series of summer lunchtime concerts on Thursdays at 12.30pm, it is home to choirs and choral groups including the Nantwich Choral Society, Nantwich Singers and Concordia, and it hosts visiting promoters such as Egerton Strings, whose string-quartet evening concerts are ticketed online. It has an organ, a worship band and a ring of bells. Facilities include a ramp, a hearing loop, an accessible toilet, free Wi-Fi, a shop and audio-visual equipment.
Church House, the Victorian parish hall built in 1897 facing the west end of the church, is run by its own trustees and has two meeting halls (the upstairs hall served by a lift) and a kitchen. It is booked by more than 20 organisations each week and is available for booked use at modest rates through the parish office.
