About this venue

Støperiet is the last of the industrial halls left standing from Kaldnes Mekaniske Verksted, the shipyard on Brygga in Tønsberg. The hall has been rebuilt as a concert venue and given a modern extension holding offices, meeting rooms and dressing rooms. It is owned and run by Tønsberg municipality. The room takes about 800 standing, or up to 400 seated for meetings and events. It is equipped with enough sound and light for anything from a single speaker to the largest bands touring Norway, and carries a modern projection system with a laser projector, a large screen, a vision mixer and a monitor screen. The building is also usable for pre-production, and a full technical equipment list is published by the municipality. Støperiet Scene does not book its own events; concerts here are promoted by outside organisers, and enquiries about a concert or lost property go to the promoter rather than the venue. 2026 hire rates run from 2,236 kr for local associations to 11,677 kr for open cultural events, 14,731 kr for private parties and 31,311 kr for commercial events and functions, with technical staff, sound and light charged on top — from 4,641 kr to 7,971 kr — and personnel at 615 kr an hour for a minimum of eight hours, then 922 kr. Booking runs through the municipality's Bookup system.
