Teater 23

Teater 23 was founded in 1958 and is one of Sweden's oldest independent theatre groups. It has been based since 1998 at Djäknegatan 7 in Malmö, in one of the listed Djäknegatshusen, and since 2009 has produced only theatre for children and young people, both on tour and on its own stage in Malmö. It is run by its members, around fifteen people work there, and it receives operating support from the City of Malmö, Region Skåne and the Swedish Arts Council. The 2026 repertoire includes Hjärnspöket (a thriller musical for ages 4-6, premiere 11 September 2026, with room for 40 people at public performances and 45 at preschool or school shows), Chop Chop, Apokalypserna, Kattkabaré and Berättelsen om den blå planeten. No hire route is published, so the stage is not advertised for outside bookings.
