About this venue

Teigen Scene is the main auditorium of the Jahn Teigen Arena on Ollebukta in Tønsberg — the cylindrical culture-house wing of a mixed-use building that opened as Oseberg kulturhus on 16 May 2001 and was renamed after the Tønsberg-born singer Jahn Teigen in the summer of 2024. The rest of the building is Quality Hotel Tønsberg, run by Strawberry: 292 rooms across five floors, built in 2002 to a design by KB Arkitekter and last refurbished in 2024, with a rooftop pool and gym, The Social Bar & Bistro and Restaurant Lindahl. The hall seats 944 people across stalls (orkester), amphitheatre and balcony, and is marketed as "Tønsberg's storstue" — the town's big room. It is programmed year-round for concerts, theatre, opera, ballet, summer shows and Christmas-table revues, and doubles as the venue for the hotel's largest conferences, where the maximum quoted capacity is 600 delegates. Tickets for public events are sold through Ticketmaster, which still lists the room under its former name, Oseberg kulturhus. Alongside the main hall the conference department has smaller meeting rooms, and the Teigen-stuene lounges can be hired for private functions such as confirmations and weddings. The building sits at the end of Tønsberg's brygga, a 14-minute walk from Tønsberg station and about 25 minutes by car from Sandefjord Airport Torp.
