About this venue

Terminalen Byscene sits in the heart of Ålesund and opened its doors in 2015. It calls itself a genre-free stage, and with around 200 cultural events a year it is one of Norway's busiest concert promoters. Alongside the concert programme it runs club nights, quizzes, debates, book talks, stand-up, film nights and SPIRE — its festival and concert series aimed at teenagers. The main room takes 750 standing, 350 seated in cinema rows or 200 at tables, and is hired out for conferences, parties, Christmas dinners and private events as well as gigs. The venue holds a full serving licence and has three bars and a generous terrace; Venterommet Bar, its later addition, keeps its own hours from Thursday to Saturday. Momentium, the Ålesund event company behind Jugendfest, runs the building. Recent and forthcoming bills range across rock, metal and punk (Nazareth, Leprous, Bigbang, The Good The Bad and The Zugly, Aktiv Dödshjelp), Norwegian pop (Maria Mena, Susanne Sundfør), folk (Stein Torleif Bjella, Valkyrien Allstars), hip hop (Kamelen) and jazz (Bushman's Revenge). There is step-free arrival at the front of the building, but no wheelchair ramp inside the room; staff will help guests who need a seat during standing concerts. Companion cards (ledsagerbevis) are accepted and the companion goes free. A staffed cloakroom runs at many events and takes cards only.
