The Belfast Empire occupies a converted nineteenth-century church at 42 Botanic Avenue and bills itself as Belfast's number one live venue. It is a two-in-one room: upstairs the galleried Victorian music hall takes touring bands, tribute acts and the long-running Empire Laughs Back comedy club, while the Empire Bar's Basement Bar serves food by day and carries live entertainment every night.
It is one of the venues used by the Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival. No capacity figures are published by the operator, so no spaces are recorded here.
