About this venue
The Crucible Theatre is Sheffield's main producing theatre, opened in 1971 and known for its thrust stage and for hosting the World Snooker Championship each spring. It is run by Sheffield Theatres, which also operates the neighbouring Lyceum Theatre and the Tanya Moiseiwitsch Playhouse on Tudor Square.
