About this venue
The Flowerpot is a real ale pub and live music venue at 19-25 King Street in Derby's Cathedral Quarter, named Derby CAMRA Pub of the Year 2025. It is made up of a run of buildings: a front room with the bar, seating that continues round into the rest of the bar area, and a stillage bar in a former tyre centre, with a garden and sun terrace at the back.
Music runs on two stages, the venue room and the bar area. Ticketed gigs take place every Friday and Saturday, with national and international touring acts in American and English roots music, while local blues and Americana acts play the bar. Monday is Roots Club night, there are free-entry gigs every January, summer events on an outdoor stage, and the Potfest music and beer festival over the August bank holiday weekend. Past performers listed by the venue include Joe Bonamassa, Walter Trout, Wilko Johnson, Wishbone Ash, Hayseed Dixie, Beth Hart and Vin Garbutt.
The bar keeps at least eight real ales, and midweek evenings bring Nepalese Gurkha curry nights. The pub also offers accommodation. No room capacities are published.
