Groundlings Theatre

Groundlings Theatre is an award-winning theatre and drama school in Portsmouth. In October 2025 it moved from the Grade II* listed Beneficial School on Kent Street, Portsea, to Boathouse 5 in Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, after the old building was sold. The new home is a Grade II listed boathouse with step-free access, holding a 63-seat studio theatre and a larger flexible main hall. It produces most of its programme in house, mixing professional and amateur work.
