About this venue
Ungdomens hus was built in 1893 as Sweden's first Folkets hus and is today let out by the City of Malmö to private individuals, associations, companies and municipal activities. It has rooms at Norra Skolgatan 10 and Torpgatan 21, all bookable between 08:00 and 22:00 every day of the week, and there is an alcohol ban in all of them. The largest room is the Festsalen, 222 m² with a 30 m² stage and a lift, used for theatre performances and conferences: it seats 150 cinema-style or 90 at tables, has a small sound system for speech and music that connects to a phone, a video projector and screen, Wi-Fi, 20 tables and 150 chairs, and the adjoining Café Verandan (77 m²) has a bar counter with a fridge and coffee equipment but no food service. Tea/Barbro (about 95 m², small stage, sound system for music) takes 65 cinema-style or 55 at tables for small concerts and lectures; Sal 4 (75 m²) is a conference room for about 40. Hirers arrange furniture and cleaning themselves. Rooms are booked in the City's online booking system after registering an account.
