Union Scene

Union Scene occupies the former paper-mill halls on Grønland in Drammen, on the opposite bank of the Drammenselva from Drammens Teater. It emerged from Drammen's rock music community in the 1990s, closed for fire-safety reasons in 2001, and reopened after a major renovation in 2005 that preserved the buildings' industrial character while adding modern performance facilities. In 2009 it merged with Drammens Teater under the joint name Drammen Scener. Today Union Scene is one of Norway's leading concert venues, hosting a wide range of genres from rock and metal to folk and pop, alongside theatre, conferences and private events, across several halls including its main stage, Bakgården (the courtyard), the Glassfoajé and smaller function rooms.
