About this venue

Wadköping was inaugurated in 1965 and consists of old wooden houses moved here from other places, showing Örebro's older buildings and town life. It lies in central Örebro beside the Stadsparken park and the Svartån river and is run by the municipality's Wadköping and Karlslund unit. The area is always open and entry is free, with museums, exhibitions, a cafe and restaurant, a wood turner, a general store and craft workshops; individual events can charge an entrance fee. Through the year it hosts markets, music, theatre, lectures, exhibitions and dance. For public events, organisers can book the Spelgården and Teaterladan (theatre barn), which suit concerts, lectures or theatre, and the Wadköpingsrummet and Skepparskrubben can be hired for an exhibition or pop-up shop. Markets also take stallholders. Booking requests go through the municipality's Wadköping pages. This is a heritage site that is used as an event venue, not a conventional hall, and no room capacities are published on the pages checked.
