About this venue

The WWK Arena is the home ground of FC Augsburg, between the districts of Göggingen and Universitätsviertel in the south of Augsburg. The club built it with the City of Augsburg from November 2007, and it opened on 26 July 2009. Its owner and operator is F.C. Augsburg Arena Besitz- und Betriebs GmbH. It was called Augsburg Arena during construction, impuls arena from 2009 and SGL arena from 2011, and it has carried the WWK name since the 2015/16 season, under a contract running to 2030. The single-tier stadium has 19,060 seats and 11,034 standing places, plus boxes for 520 guests and 46 wheelchair places, for 30,660 in total (26,160 for international matches). It hosted matches of the 2010 U-20 and 2011 Women's World Cups. On 30 May 2026 the arena staged its first large concert, by Roy Bianco und die Abbrunzati Boys.
