O'Connor's Irish Pub Bergen occupies Svensgården, a historic building on the Bryggen wharf first documented in 1296 and rebuilt in its present form after the great fire of 1476. At its centre stands Pütterstuen, the largest wooden building on Bryggen, originally two separate houses that were combined into one between 1787 and 1797 under Christopher Ellerhusen, the last German Hanseatic merchant to live there; the building has since been carefully restored.O'Connor's opened here on 29 June 2024, bringing Irish pub hospitality to the historic setting: live-streamed football and other sports (Premier League, Europa League, Champions League, handball), weekend live music, pub quiz nights, and board games and D&D nights, alongside light pub food. Outdoor seating overlooks Bryggen.
