About this venue

Palmehaven is the iconic hall at the heart of Britannia Hotel in central Trondheim, a lush winter garden of palms that has been an institution in the city for generations. The hotel dates its story to 1870; Palmehaven serves as its five-star breakfast room and its stage for culinary and cultural events alike. Concerts and supper shows are programmed through the hotel's culture calendar, which runs a weekly line-up of intimate live music, art and food-and-drink events across the house. Halvdan Sivertsen returns for evenings of songs with aperitif and a three-course dinner; the Champagne Brunch series brings a live host and music into the room; the lutefisk season opens here each October and the Christmas buffet runs Tuesday to Thursday through the festive weeks. Alongside the events, Palmehaven hosts the hotel's breakfast (Monday to Sunday 08:00-11:00), an afternoon tea every Saturday from 13:00 to 16:30 with a last seating at 14:30, and a Sunday buffet from 15:00 to 19:30 with a last seating at 17:30. A smart casual dress code applies after 18:00. Britannia Hotel is one of Scandinavia's larger event addresses, and Palmehaven sits within a house that also holds the 325-seat, 500-standing Britannia Hall, thirteen purpose-built meeting rooms, the Speilsalen and Brasserie Britannia restaurants, Jonathan Grill in the basement and Vinbaren's wine cellar. Table reservations for Palmehaven go through the maître d'; event enquiries through the hotel's events team.
