The Toucan Public House

The Toucan Public House opened on 1 May 2026 at the corner where Brugata meets Christian Krohgs gate in Vaterland, central Oslo, taking over the premises that until then had operated as Abelone Kjøkken & Bar. It is run by Thon's restaurant arm and fitted out as a traditional English pub, with dark wood interiors styled after 1940s London. The programme is social rather than musical: a pub quiz every Tuesday from 18:00 to 20:00, music bingo on alternate Saturdays at 21:00, and live sport on large screens including Premier League football. Pub food is served daily until 21:00, and there is outdoor seating in the city centre. Its position a short walk from Oslo Spektrum makes it a common pre- and post-concert stop. A private party room and partially screened areas can be booked for functions, and Christmas party packages are offered in season.
